My holidays have been absolutely lovely. All my gifts were perfect, and none were from my list!
Today I went shopping downtown with my mom, and found a great pair of boots and the coolest pair of retro sneakers.

We had a great lunch at the Steelhead Diner - I want to marry the Diner Salad and the Braised Escarole. Yum! I also discovered a new whiskey, Snake River Stampede made in Oregon.

Every time I get involved with someone, there is always a certain amount of baggage to go through - even when the relationship is fairly casual. So I'm thinking about some of the fun times I've had with guys, starting with my first boyfriend.

Being a tomboy, most of my friends were guys, and one my very best friends in 3rd grade was Brooks. He invited me to his hockey practice, which apparently meant something according to my parents, who inaugurated their long tradition of teasing me about guys. After the game, I asked Brooks if he wanted to kiss me. He probably made a face, and when I offered my cheek, he spit on it. I think we were still friends, but thanks to my parents, this is the only thing I remember!
