I wore a beret today, bright red.
I found it at a Ballard yard sale a few years ago. Felt very jaunty and visible, but had fun with it. Going to see the Vinyl Cafe at the Paramount Theatre tonight with my mom - very excited!
I'm hoping to get through some sewing this weekend, in addition to my portfolio for grad school and ordering the bulbs for the Moscow cottage. There is a contest on the Sewing Pattern Review website for cotton apparel, and I think it is time to cut into my precious Liberty floral to make a dress from BWOF. I have this whole Fall/Winter wardrobe planned, as usual, and I should perhaps get started instead of daydreaming. One piece will have to be hand-drafted - a fitted vest out of green leather. I've found some good patterns, but nothing spot on, and to get a good fit it should be made from scratch.
I have all these great ideas for the bulbs, especially getting a dozen or so lilies-of-the-valley to fill in this lovely space under the big viney bush plant - I'll remember the name in a bit. Definitely see a vase type fountain here, surrounded by all the little white bells and dark green blades. Grape hyacinth is also a must, to fill in the bed with the roses, and beside the front walk. I'll pair them with some orange and yellow tulips.
I wanted to also get some monkshood, but as I don't have a place for that yet, it will wait.
